We're Hiring: Fire Chief – Sabattus Fire Department

The Town of Sabattus, Maine is seeking a motivated and experienced Fire Chief to lead our dedicated Fire & Rescue Department.

About Us:

Serving a vibrant community of over 5,000 residents, the Sabattus Fire Department responds to approximately 630 calls annually—75% of which are first response, non-transport EMS emergencies. With two stations, seven apparatus, and a growing team of 29 members, we’re committed to safety, service, and community.

What We’re Looking For:

High School Diploma or GED

Associate’s degree in a related field preferred

Valid Maine Driver’s License

Firefighter I & II Certification

EMT-Paramedic Licensure (State of Maine)

15+ years of fire service experience

Experience at the Chief level preferred

HazMat Ops & Water Rescue Operations certifications

Commitment to obtaining NFPA Fire Inspector I & Fire Investigator certifications within 2 years

Your Role:

Lead and manage all aspects of Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Management operations. From fire suppression and EMS to strategic planning and community engagement, you’ll be at the forefront of public safety in Sabattus.
